| Timberline Four Seasons Resort is located in Canaan Valley in north
central West Virginia, high in the Allegheny Mountains. The mountain
boasts 1,000 vertical feet of skiing, with long enjoyable trails for all levels
and a climate that is unique in the mid-Atlantic region. Timberline's high altitude
(4,268-foot peak) location is known for cool temperatures, long winters and
abundant natural snowfall. If Mother Nature does not cooperate, Timberline is
equipped to provide a deep base and reliable skiing conditions throughout the
season.
Skiers will enjoy 35 trails covering 91.5 skiable acres. Thirty
percent of the skiable terrain is lighted Thursday through Saturday and holidays
until 9 p.m. during the regular season. Riders are welcome on all 35 trails
and snowboard lessons and rentals are available. Seventeen kilometers of cross-country
and backcountry trails may be accessed from Timberline. A one ride lift ticket
is offered for backcountry skiers heading out from the mountain's top. Nordic
rental equipment is available on site.
Lessons and Adaptive Skiing. The Timberline Ski School offers
instruction for alpine, telemark, back country, snowboard, adaptive and racing
techniques. Special programs exist for children, women and seniors. The resort
features ski rentals, retail shop, cafeteria and Timbers Pub. Timbers Pub is
located on the upper level of the base lodge and has a blazing fireplace and
a full-service bar. |
