The Homestead Ski Area

The Homestead was the South's first ski destination. The ski area is a great place for family gatherings. It offers nine runs over 45 acres for skiing and snowboarding enjoyment, complete snowmaking capabilities, Olympic-size skating rink, full rental and equipment sales, a fireside lodge and a staff of professional European ski and skate instructors for individual and group clinics. Snowboarders will enjoy Homestead's Snowboard Park and half-pipe built just for them. The 260 feet above ground half-pipe is 20 feet wide with six feet high walls and is served by a T-bar lift. It offers snowboard features and hits. Rentals and lessons are available.

Homestead guests may enjoy the resort's many facilities and services. Options include the naturally warmed waters of the indoor pool, aroma and massage therapy in the historic Homestead Spa, use of the fitness center, tenpin bowling, group aerobics, horseback and carriage rides, nightly movies, dancing and a cozy collection of sitting and gathering areas featuring board and table games. The Homestead also features an 18-hole golf course. There are a number of ski packages, including accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily and one full day of lift tickets for every night of stay. The Homestead Ski Area is located in Hot Springs. Take I-64 and U.S. Highway 220 north.

Airport Shuttle Information

The Homestead Resort provides an in-house system of transportation to and from the Roanoke Regional Airport. Reservations are required 48 hours in advance. For transportation prices as well as to make reservations please call the resort Transportation Department at 540-839-7711.

Guests arriving at the airport should proceed from the gate area to the downstairs baggage claim. Our driver will be waiting at the bottom of the escalator, near the baggage claim area, with a Homestead sign. Homestead shuttles are available on the hour by reservation only.

At the end of your stay, Homestead shuttles depart on the hour by reservation only. Reservations should be made 48 hours in advance. Drive time is approximately 90 minutes. We suggest departing guests leave 3 hours prior to flight time to allow ample time for check-in.
