Smuggs is amazing. They have some of the best glades and off trail skiing and snowboarding in the east. You can really find some nice unmarked trails veering off the main trails if you have your eyes open. Smuggs rocks!

I went to Smuggler's Notch during a weekend in the beginning of January with a large group of 20-something friends. 90% of the people who went were snowboarding, the rest skiing. We were staying at the liftside villas which gave a very nice view of the mountain. The 3 story condo I stayed in was very nice and well worth the price. I had a chance to see the 1 level condo as well and it was equally as nice. The people were very friendly and such, but it comes down to this. This place is meant for families and that's it. When we went there were less than 10 trails to go on and the snowboard park wasn't ready. It had snowed before the weekend so there was no excuse for not having all the trails open. It kept us limited to going down the same mountain for an entire day. Everything there was centered around family and I would HIGHLY recommend it to families, BUT for 20 somethings and teenagers, you may find more fun elsewhere. Also, a friend on the trip made a call to inquire about renting a snowmobile but he was put on hold for nearly an hour before being disconnected. He then called back, and was put on hold again and then spoke to someone who said he would call back -- but never did. A lot of what they advertised wasn't open, which makes me feel like I was taken for a ride.

I've been going to Smuggs for at least five years and it's one of the best mountains in the east. The lines aren't as long as most mountains in Vermont, and the classes and entertainment for kids is great. The triple diamond, the black, is the best glade I’ve ever skied.
