Mount Snow
Overview Resort Statistics Lift Statistics Trail Statistics Other Services Contact Info Directions

Mount Snow first opened for skiing on December 12, 1954 with two chairlifts, two rope tows and seven trails that extended about halfway up the mountain. Over the years Mount Snow would continue to grow steadily, adding lifts, facilities and snowmaking capacity until today Mount Snow skiers can enjoy four separate lodge facilities, 23 lifts capable of carrying 36,252 skiers per hour and 476 acres of snowmaking!

Through the years Mount Snow has also worked to maintain the goals and visions of a resort that would be absolutely fabulous! And fabulous was the word used to describe some of the innovations at Mount Snow like the first year-round outdoor swimming pool in the East adjacent to an indoor skating rink! Or the Jetsons-like cable cars that ran through the air over Snow Lake. Or Snow Lake itself where a 350-foot geyser tossed 10,000 gallons of water per minute, water that froze into a huge glacier in the middle of the lake forming "Fountain Mountain" where skiing went on well into the summer! While the face of Mount Snow has continued to change, the spirit has remained the same. Mount Snow is a resort dedicated to being different. We strive to give you, our guest, a unique and fun experience every time you visit us. The fun is not just the skiing in the Mount Snow region. There are many mountain activities to suit everyone's needs. For example, ice skating, sledding, snowmobiling, shopping, bowling and movies just to name a few. If that's not enough, Mount Snow hosts a number of special events all year long. Mount Snow is nestled in the Green Mountains of southern Vermont.
