The mountain has a lot of varied terrain with some pretty long runs. It's a lot of fun especially after a fresh snow fall. I was there after x-mass 2006 (26 inches of powder, 200 trails! The skiing was great. Killington has some of the most challenging terrain in the east. The only thing I was not happy with was the employees at the resort. Some of the lift operators were extremely rude. Other then that I had a great time. I would rate it 4 out of 5.

Last year I had possibly one of those days of all days, the type of day you can absolutley forget everything. Last winter we had one of the most furious winters in my short life, those who claim that "that was the biggest winter ever" seem to forget that those hills in cental vermont have seen everything withstood wars, the great depression, and plenty of winters. So back to what I was saying, yes Killington can be rather pricey but compared to what is located here in NE what other mountain can compare? Sunday River can but keep in mind they are both owned by the American Skiing company which owns many mountains in this area and a few out west. If you are compaing prices in NE it is the highest but where else can you get the amount of trails? At last count there are 32 lifts 200 trails and can support 52,973 rides per hour but who wants to be there when you can ski with 2 of your best friends and feel like you own the mountain. So take some advice give Killington a try on a NON-WEEKEND day and see what it is all about. If you ever think that the snow is bad at Killington do a little tree skiing, but be careful you may be tricked thinking that you are out west. I found a store of chest deep powder there last year and I am not sharing with anyone.

This place rocks! Great conditions awesome trails. Just a little word of advice...only use the gondolas if you really need to because it’s a kind of long line. Also if you’re an expert skier... go to Bear Mountain off of Skye Peak and ski Outer Limits and Devils Fiddle!!

Killington opens early. The only reason to go to killington is to get ready for the season. The staff is obnoxious (this is a very common complaint with Killington). To much emphaisis is stressed on marketing and not enough on delivering the goods. If the website say 100 trails open, it usually means 70.
The place has some good terrain but the layout is too choppy. Again, this is due to marketing. Whatever it takes to link the mountains and call it one big place. Trail quality goes out the window, in favor of trail quantity.
Surrounding area is overpriced. Bring your wallet, $12 for breakfast at certain places.
Night life is good, if you are going to there to drink. But if you are going to ski go elsewhere.
Crowds are a problem. Place is packed on the weekneds.

Killington is the most over rated resort in the Northeast. It is always crowded. It has alot of trails but only about 10 that an advanced skier would want to ski. It seems that you are constantly traversing to get from one trail to another. If they get a good dumping of snow the night before its skied off by 10:00am.

I am extremely negative on Killington. Many trails, Many people, and not enough snow. It seems to be always crowded. It drives me crazy. I find more people who can't ski ski at killington. Also I would have to agree the staff is terrible.
