We visited Ascutney Mountain Resort this past weekend with the intention of looking at a condo for sale at the ski mountain. The hotel was AWFUL: our "Windsor" room was covered with flies and the maids did not provide room service. The restaurant food was poor and we were the ONLY people there, which should have told us something. We decided to leave a day early because the experience was so awful for us and our kids. We did show up for our appt. to see the condo because we felt we should go if we drove 3+ hours to see it. We waited 20 minutes for someone to show up, which no one did. Upon check-out, an exceptionally rude staff person (Spencer) decided to charge us double the room rate they quoted us because we didn't look at the condo - the same condo appt. we were there for but the staff didn't show up. They would not allow us to speak with a Manager or anyone who could help us resolve the issue. The staff was beligerent and disrespectful. We called local police because they charged my credit card without my permission before we resolved the dispute. The police got our charge slip back for us and we placed a formal complaint. We learned from local police that we were not the first people to have a VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS RESORT. BE VERY CAUTIOUS!!!
