Ski Magazine readers consider Sundance, a year-round mountain community on 6,000 acres, one of the best lesser-known areas in the country. It boasts 450 acres of terrain on the slopes of 12,000-foot Mt. Timpanogos. Forty-one trails are spread over a vertical drop of 2,150 feet, with plenty of choices for everyone. The scenery is breathtaking and the lifts are never congested at this resort owned by actor/director Robert Redford. The Quad lift from Sundance Village provides easy access to additional lifts and terrain above, but the atmosphere and choices are strictly cozy and intimate. Just a mile-and-a-half beyond the downhill area is the Nordic Center with 38km of trails groomed for skating and classical skiing and 10km of dedicated snowshoe trails. The year-round arts program and weekend film screenings add a delicious touch to the skiing and riding experience. Sundance participates in the Ski Utah Passport program, allowing guests to purchase a booklet of one-day lift ticket vouchers, good at seven participating Utah resorts.

This resort is very close to Provo/Orem area. Lots of BYU student crowds. The slopes generally face south so they remain icy except on powder days. The northwest runs are awesome.
