I'm usually a Vermont skiier, so I was fairly dissapointed in PA. But Jack Frost is an ideal place for learners and day trips. There are only a few difficult trails, but they were nice ones, if somewhat short. The worst problem with this mountain was the number of beginners skiing the black diamonds. They were in over their heads and way out of control. Other than that, this is a great mountain for families. The layout is simple enough for a five-year old to not get lost. The trails go one way: down. The easiest trails are on the left, gradually becoming more difficult on the right. The lodge is at the top, and lifts are placed every few trails or so, seldom out of sight. If you have small children, this is your perfect day or weekend trip. Adult beginners may find the trails a little too short, though.

Compared to other options in the area (Camelback, Blue Mountain, Montage, Elk), this place just doesn't cut it. I suppose it's good for families and beginners (that's mostly what was there), but if you already know how to ski/board and don't have kids, this isn't a good choice. The runs are short, and not much of a challenge.
