Camelback is a ski area for beginners and intermediates that enjoy green and blue cruisers. Camalback is not a steep mountain. The Pharoah, and King Tut are some nice cruisers. The Nile Mile is a good run for beginners to work on there technique. If you enjoy bumps there is a couple of good bump runs to find, but it isn't overwhelming. If your looking for tree skiing, don't come to Camelback because there is no tree skiing. The resort is packed on the weekends. If you're at Camalback on the weekend, ski early and ski through lunch! I do like the two high speed quads Camalback has because once your on the lift it doesn't take too long to get to the summit!

Camelback is one of the best slopes in Pa. They have a wide range of terrain which offers something for everyone - beginners to experts, skier to snow boarders to tubers. It's a wide mountain but the expert trails are relatively short. They have some great runs but most end half way down the mountain into an intermediate or an beginner slope. Camelback has two high speed quads which get people up the mountain much faster so you spend less time on the lifts on in lines. There are several lodges but one of the best kept secrets is the Fireside Lounge located under the main lodge. There you will find a massive fireplace with a bar and food. There's a great pasta bar there where you'll have several choices of pastas, ingredients, and sauces. Two trips are included for a price of $7. That's the other thing that I found to be a pleasant surprise...the food was relatively cheap for a ski lodge. You can actually eat a meal for $5-7 which is typically unheard of. Right down the road from Camelback are some shopping outlets which offers another excursion for those not interested in skiing. Camelback has something for everyone and continues to be one of my favorites in Pennsylvania.

Camelback is the best ski area in the Poconos. They have snow first and keep it the longest. They groom every night (I know cause I used to work there) and take really great care of their slopes and lifts. There are 2 high-speed quad lifts that take just minutes (literally 2) to get all the way to the top of the mountain. And they're detachable so you can take your time getting on and off and not have to worry about getting hit in the back of the knees with the chair. These chairs also keep the lift lines really short and fast-moving. The prices are reasonable for the amount of slopes Camelback has and the quality of the skiing/boarding. There are snowboard parks with a half pipe, quarter pipe and everything else that you could want. Every few years Camelback adds more slopes and they just keep getting better and better. They range from bunny-hill all the way to double diamond (a true PA double diamond). Even the food is great for a ski area. The trails are brightly lit for night skiing and wooded for that outdoorsy feel. The help at Camelback is more than happy to help. They're always happy (or at least act it) and like to play around, in a good way. The only thing I didn't like is when the weather is bad or it's a holiday, the traffic is slow-moving. There's only one road leading to and from the mountain, and the road also services a resort, great restaurant and factory outlet complex. I would definitely say that Camelback is the best ski area in the Poconos. It's worth the trip from the city or just around the bend.

Camelback is fun, but not challenging. It's a good place to race your buddy if you are intermediate. I didn't find it to be as steep as 7-Springs, nor as interesting. I met some nice people though, and it seems to be more of a local place for skiing.
