Ski Big Bear offers terrain for every member of the family. Beginners can take quick trips down Snowbird or as they improve venture onto Whispering Run to the Little Bear Chairlift. More confident beginners can comfortably travel all the way to the bottom of the mountain via Eagles Pass.

SNOW SPORTS SCHOOL. Ski Big Bear is the perfect place to learn to ski or snowboard. Our gentle learner slopes, affordable rentals and quality instruction will have you making turns in no time. Private ski and snowboard lessons are available throughout the day and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Level 1 group lessons are available on weekends and holidays at 10:00am and 2:30pm. Ask about our "First Timer" Learn to Ski/Snowboard Package and Children's Programs.

• Take Interstate 80 West, 36 miles to Route 15 North - Exit 34B
• Follow Route 15 to 206 North to the bridge crossing the Delaware River
• Bear Right onto 209 North straight through light where Route 6 Begins
• Follow Route 6 West approx. 12 miles to the intersection of PA Route 434 at the Exxon Gas Station
• At the fork in the road, bear left and take 590 West
• Follow 590 to Lackawaxen
• Turn right after crossing the first bridge (Lackawaxen River)onto Masthope Plank Rd.
• At "T" turn left and go one mile to top of hill.

From Philadelphia

• Take either the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike, or Rt. 476 to Route 22 East to the Allentown/Bethlehem Route 33 North.
• Go East on I-80 approx. 4 miles to Exit 52 at Marshalls Creek, follow Route 209 North 2 lights.
• Turn left at second light onto Route 402 North, go 25 miles to I-84 East.
• Go one Exit to Lords Valley Exit #34 and Route 739.
• Proceed North on 739 approx. 1 mile to first intersection at “84 Lumber.”
• Turn right onto PA 434 for 5 miles.
• At "T" turn left onto Route 6 North for about 200 feet.
• Immediately turn right at Exxon Station on to PA 434 North for 2 miles.
• At the fork in the road, bear left and take 590 West.
• Follow PA 590 West to Lackawaxen.
• Turn right after crossing the first bridge (Lackawaxen River)onto Masthope Plank Rd.
• At "T" turn left and travel one mile to top of hill.
• At 4-way stop, turn right onto Karl Hope Blvd. in Masthope Mountain Community.
• Ski Big Bear is located at the end of Karl Hope Blvd.

From Scranton

• Take Interstate 84 East to Lords Valley Exit #34 and Route 739
• Proceed North on 739 Approx. 1 Mile to First Intersection at "84 Lumber"
• Turn Right onto Well Road for 5 Miles to the End
• Turn Left on Route 6 North for Approx. 200 Feet
• Immediately Turn Right at the Exxon Gas Station on to 434/590 for 2 Miles
• At the Fork in the Road Bear Left and Remain on 590 West
• Follow 590 to Lackawaxen
• Turn Right after Crossing the First Bridge (Lackawaxen River)
• Follow the Signs 4 Miles to Big Bear Ski Area at Masthope Mountain

From Connecticut/North Hudson

• Take Interstate 84 West to Exit 46 at Milford
• Follow 6 West Approx. 12 Miles to the Intersection of Routes 434/590 at the Exxon Gas Station.
• Turn Right on to 434/590West for 2 Miles
• At the Fork in the Road, Bear Left and Remain on 590 West
• Follow 590 to Lackawaxen
• Turn Right after Crossing the First Bridge (Lackawaxen River)
• Follow the Signs 4 Miles to Big Bear Ski Area at Masthope Mountain

From State Route 97 in New York

• Take NY 97 North or South as necessary to reach the Roebling Bridge.
• Cross Roebling Bridge into Pennsylvania.
• At stop sign turn right onto Lackawaxen Scenic Dr.
• At next stop sign turn right onto PA 590.
• Turn right after crossing the first bridge onto Masthope Plank Rd.
• At "T" turn left and go one mile to top of hill.
• At 4-way stop, turn right onto Karl Hope Blvd. in Masthope Mountain Community.
• Ski Big Bear is located at the end of Karl Hope Blvd.

From Hawley

• Take PA 590 East for approx. 7 miles.
• Turn left at the Cuckoo's Nest Restaurant and travel three miles on Westcolang Rd.
• At four-way stop, turn left on Karl Hope Blvd. into Masthope Mountain Community.
• Ski Big Bear is located at the end of Karl Hope Blvd.

From Milford

• Take Route 6 West for approx. 12 miles to the intersection of Routes 6 and PA 434.
• Turn right onto PA 434 and follow for about 1.5 miles.
• At "Y" bear left onto PA 590 West.
• Follow PA 590 to town of Lackawaxen.
• Turn right after crossing the first bridge onto Masthope Plank Rd.
• At "T" turn left and go one mile to top of hill.
• At 4-way stop, turn right onto Karl Hope Blvd. in Masthope Mountain Community.
• Ski Big Bear is located at the end of Karl Hope Blvd.

Directions for vehicles over 10' tall coming from PA 590 West

• Do not turn right onto Masthope Plank Rd. Instead, continue on PA 590 West.
