At a summit elevation of more than 4,800 feet and a typical natural snowfall of more than 90 inches each winter, Hawksnest Ski Area offers some great skiing with a southern accent. Hawksnest is a great beginner and intermediate area. The beginner area has been redesigned and expanded. For great cruising trails, checkout Sock-Em-Dog and Right Stuff. Need an adrenaline rush?

Get your heart pumping and your skis turning with a run down Top Gun, a new advanced slope. It has an average grade of 38 percent and is just short of one half mile. Snowboarders hit the tabletop and slide the rail, work the "S" turns and catch big air in the half-pipe. Hawksnest is 95 miles from Winston-Salem, 115 miles from Charlotte, 155 miles from Knoxville and 255 miles from Atlanta.

Ski North Carolina! Hawksnest is located just off of Highway 105 South between Boone and Banner Elk, North Carolina...high atop Seven Devils... North Carolina.

From Interstate 40 take Hwy 321 North or Hwy 221 North...to Highway 105. You'll see the sign at the entrance to Seven Devils. Just follow the signs up the mountain.

From Asheville, NC:
Interstate 40 East to Highway 221 North to Highway 105 in Linville. Take 105
to Seven Devils. About 1 hour and 30 minute trip.

From Charlotte, NC:
Interstate 77 North to Highway 421. 421 to Boone, take Highway 105 South to
Seven Devils. About two hour trip.

From Raleigh & Greensboro, NC:
Interstate 40 West to Highway 421 West. 421 to Boone, take Highway 105 South
to Seven Devils. About 3 hours from Raleigh, 2 hours from Greensboro.

From Johnson City, TN:
Highway 321 South to Highway 194 in Brushy Fork. 194 to Highway 105 South to
Seven Devils. About hour trip.

From Hickory, NC:
Highway 321 North to Highway 105 in Boone. 105 South to Seven Devils. About
