Plattekill Mountain
Overview Resort Statistics Lift Statistics Trail Statistics Other Services Contact Info Directions

At Plattekill Mountain our varied terrain offers something for everyone, from two-mile long beginner trails to some of the steepest slopes in the East! Our "Powder Puff" beginner trail is the most famous of all, a great beginner cruiser that offers just the right pitch and excitement run after run. For the experts, our "Plunge" trail offers 1100 feet of continuous vertical (cvd)…meaning no run out at the bottom of the trail, pure steepness from top to bottom…expert paradise. But it's not the big mountain terrain that makes Plattekill Mountain unique, it's the small mountain charm you'll find here when you arrive. Our friendly, family-oriented, laid-back atmosphere can be felt when you step foot in our rustic ski lodge, and it's our mountain staff's ongoing challenge to offer our guests all the amenities while making you feel like family. The lack of lift lines and uncrowded slopes make Platekill the Catskills best kept secret.

And we can't forget the biggest part of all, the snow! Situated in a natural ski bowl, we contribute much of this snowfall to frequent snow squalls that often get trapped above the bowl. Plus, our location…just that little bit farther west on the map, Ski Plattekill receives some phenomenal lake effect snows that blow over from the Great Lakes. We continue to expand our snowmaking too as this year we've added top-to-bottom coverage on Blockbuster, Platekill's signature trail.
