If you've been to Holiday Valley, you know it's one of the best ski resorts in all of New York. Holiday Valley is a great deal too. Most people say that Holiday Valley's 750' vertical drop is too small. Places that say they have a 1500' still can't compare to HV's 750. Most ski resorts with a high vertical only have one or two hills that reach 1500'. At HV about 90% of the hills go form top to bottom the full 750’ vertical. Holiday Valley has great snow making and the most lighting in the east not to mention there 3 great terrain parks. There Snow making covers 95%. They have 41 night skiing rums. They also have very challenging runs. There most famous and my favorite is the Wall, it may not be long but it is one of the steepest in the east with a 66% gradient. But if your not a expert skier then Holiday Valley has many beginner hills to offer. So if you want the best deal around and a resort that is becoming one of the best in the east visit Holiday Valley and you won't be disappointed.

While Holiday valley does have many trails and is good for people of all skill levels it does have room for improvement. Most of the people who visit are from Ohio,Canada, and Pennsylvania and they have limited resources available to them, they seem to enjoy the resort. People who have skied in New York's other resorts may find little or no challenge. With only one double black diamond "THE WALL" and the other black diamonds that they do have would for intermediates at best in other resorts. The snow conditions are terrible with vast patches of ice. We were lucky and did get a couple of runs in before the groomers came through. I would only recommend this place for beginners and families who have young children.I would like to go back if they changed the grooming
