Bellayre is an easy drive from the New York area which makes it a great day trip. They work hard at keeping the conditions good to excellent as much as humanly possible. The diamond runs are a little short, which is good if you find yourself on one you shouldn't be on, but tricky enough to keep you from getting bored. The novice/ expert runs and lifts are usually not too crowded, and the skiers and boarders aren't as crazy as they are at some of the bigger areas. I ski there three or four times a year and enjoy it every time.
