Sipapu Ski Area is nestled in the Pecos Wilderness and the Carson National Forest along the banks of the Rio Pueblo in northern New Mexico. The convenient location of the lifts and the variety of intermediate runs for downhill skiing and snowboarding make this a favorite year-round family resort. Sipapu offers a range of on-site accommodations: duplexes, suites, apartments, cabins, dormitories and a trailer park with complete hookups.

There is a full-service restaurant filled with rustic charm and a cozy, paneled lodge with a stone fireplace for apres-ski. Santa Fe, N.M., or Taos, N.M., are a comfortable, scenic drive from Sipapu. The ski area is conveniently located on Highway 518, just 22 miles from Taos, N.M., 65 miles from Santa Fe, N.M., and 55 miles from Las Vegas.

Nestled in the Sangre de Christo mountains on the banks of the Rio Pueblo, Sipapu is surrounded by the Pecos Wilderness and the Carson National Forest.

Sipapu is conveniently located on Highway 518, just 22 scenic miles southeast of Taos. The highway is paved, plowed, and extra wide for easy winter travel.

If you're coming in from the east (Interstate 40), you'll pass through the historic Old West town of Las Vegas (55 miles from Sipapu) and travel north on Highway 518.

If you're driving up from Sante Fe, (65 miles from Sipapu), you'll drive through the Rio Grande Valley (north on Hwy 68) passing a number of Pueblo Indian villages, along pinon covered hillsides (a few minutes past Espanola turn east on Hwy 75 to Hwy 518) traveling through the historic towns of Dixon, Penasco and Vadito.
