Waterville Valley's alpine ski area and the cross-country center are both located in the vast and scenic White Mountain National Forest. Waterville Valley offers big mountain skiing with varied terrain, ranging from challenging and exhilarating to gentle learning slopes. Downhill enthusiasts are challenged with expert and intermediate trails pouring down a 2,020-foot vertical drop on Mt. Tecumseh. All 52 trails reconverge at one convenient base area, making this a terrific family place. You will find a top-rated ski school featuring award-winning children's programs and alpine and snowboarding programs for all ages. A slopeside nursery for tots from 6 weeks rounds out the family vacation experience. Check out the newly expanded Exhibition Terrain Park, plus drop in the new in-ground superpipe located next to the Park on Phil's Hill.

Cross-Country Skiing. The Cross-Country Ski Center offers full-service rentals, retail and lessons servicing more than 105km of trails. You will find 70 km of groomed and tracked trails for both diagonal and skating and 35 km of wilderness ski access, making it perfect for the novice, intermediate or expert skier. Plus every alpine pass is valid for free same day cross-country trail access. There is snowmaking on a 2.5 km loop for early-season skiing.

Adaptive Skiing. Waterville Valley has an excellent Adaptive Skier Program. They have mono-skis, bi-skis and other specially-designed equipment available. There are five on-mountain restaurants, from basic cafeteria-style to mountain-top gourmet dining and full-service retail, rental and repair shops. Be sure to get to the mountain early on weekends, especially if you are driving. After all, Boston is only two hours away.
