The Balsams Wilderness is a magnificent 15,000 acre private estate high in New Hampshire's White Mountains. This classic destination resort provides its guests the ultimate winter vacation, offering 15 alpine trails and three glades with a vertical drop of 1,006 feet, a full-service base lodge, 75 km of tracked and groomed cross-country skiing trails, ice skating, guided natural history tours, three rooms of live entertainment and choice-of-menu dining at breakfast and dinner. All of this and friendly, considerate guest service are included in The Balsams Wilderness American plan rates.

The Balsams Wilderness recently received the National Ski Area Design Award in recognition of its architectural style and unique historic preservation. Called "one of the world's 12 poshest ski resorts" by SKI Magazine, The Balsams Wilderness also is considered one of the top cross-country ski resorts in North America. Harvest Aviation Services LLC provides air charter services to The BALSAMS Grand Resort.

From New York City & Connecticut: Interstate 95 to New Haven, then north to Interstate 91 to St. Johnsbury, VT, continuing via Route 2 to Lancaster, NH and Route 3 to Colebrook, NH, then east on Route 26 for 11 miles to Dixville Notch (390 miles).

From Boston: North on Interstate 93 past Franconia Notch, NH to exit 35, then Route 3 to Colebrook, NH and east on Route 26 for 11 miles to Dixville Notch (219 miles).

Alternate Route From Boston: Route 95 to Portsmouth, NH, then Route 16 to Route 26, then west on Route 26 for 11 miles to Dixville Notch (210 miles).

From Portland: Maine Turnpike north to Exit 63 (formerly Exit 11), onto Route 26 to Dixville Notch (118 miles).

From Montreal: East on Autoroute 10 to Magog, Route 55 south 8 miles to Route 141 to Coaticook, then Route 147 south to Norton, VT, north on Route 114 (eastbound) to Route 3, then south to Colebrook, NH and east on Route 26 for 11 miles to Dixville Notch (152 miles).

From Toronto: Highway 401 to Montreal; follow directions from Montreal (480 miles).

Airport Information: If you fly into Portland, expect about a 2.5 hour drive to The Balsams in good weather (i.e. non-snowy conditions). The entire trip is via two-lane highway, and offers the most scenic route into the resort.
If you fly into Manchester, the trip is typically about 3 hours. Leaving the airport follow the signs for Rte.293 north to connect you to 93 North. Follow Route 93 North until exit 35. Once on Route 3 North, follow until you reach Colebrook. Once in the center of Colebrook take Route 26 (right turn at blinking yellow light), follow for 11 miles. The BALSAMS will appear on your left-hand side. Take the second entrance. Watch out for the Moose!!
