| Nevada Extensive Uncrowded Runs Whether your destination is Reno or
Lake Tahoe, Mt. Rose will fit right into your plans. Perched high on
the Nevada side of the Sierras, Mt. Rose has the highest base elevation of any
ski area at Lake Tahoe at 8,260 feet. The lifts go up to 9,700 feet offering
fantastic views of the Tahoe and Reno areas. Mt. Rose Ski Area has more than
900 acres of skiable and rideable terrain. With a vertical drop of 1,440 feet
and 43 runs, Mt. Rose provides exciting terrain for every level of skier and
snowboarder. The Rose side offers extensive, uncrowded runs for beginners, plus
a big bowl and numerous trails for intermediates and challenging faces for experts.
The Slide side is for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders only,
and frequently has some of the best powder conditions in the Lake Tahoe region.
Five lifts move skiers to the top where you can find excellent snow conditions
even on the warmest spring days.
Friendly, skilled instructors are dedicated to making learning to ski
easy and fun and to helping all skiers improve their abilities. Choose
from private or group lessons, numerous ski and snowboard workshops for adults,
and children's programs. Both morning and afternoon lift tickets are available
for the convenience of travelers arriving in Reno in the morning or leaving
in the afternoon. Of all Lake Tahoe Ski Resorts, Mt. Rose is the closest to
Reno, and shuttles are available twice daily from several hotels (Silver Legacy,
Reno Hilton, John Ascuaga's Nugget, Sands and Atlantis). For Reno Ski Shuttle

the Hyatt Regency, located in Incline Village, on the North Shore. Mt. Rose
Ski Area is 22 miles from downtown Reno (about a 30-minute drive) on the Mt.
Rose Highway (SR431), 11 miles from Tahoe's North Shore and 36 miles from the
night life of Stateline on the South Shore. |
