Discovery Basin Ski Area is located in Deer Lodge National Forest in Anaconda, Mont. Discovery is a place for families to be together. With 40 trails covering 380 skiable acres and a 1,300-foot vertical, you will find terrain to suit your needs. There are great intermediate runs and outrageous, challenging skiing on the back side. Snowboarders are welcome. Cross-country skiers can glide along 5 kilometers of trails. Amenities include a full-service cafeteria offering a variety of homemade goodies, an outdoor grill open on weekends and busy days, a bar, picnic area and rental and sport shop.

From the east:
Take Interstate 90 to exit 208 onto Highway 1 west towards Anconda (8 miles). Continue west on Highway 1 for 20 miles to Georgetown Lake. Turn right (north) at the Discovery Ski Area and St. Timothy's Chapel signs. Continue north for 4.5 miles to the ski area.

From the west:
Take Interstate 90 to exit 153 onto Highway 1 east towards Philipsburg (26 miles). Remain on Highway 1 past Philipsburg towards Georgetown Lake. Two miles past the Georgetown Lake dam turn left (north) at the Discovery Ski Area and St. Timothy's Chapel signs. Continue north for 4.5 miles to the ski area.

Air Travel
Butte's Bert Mooney Airport is located 50 miles from Discovery Ski Area. Delta and Alaska/Horizon Airlines offer connecting services through Salt Lake City and Seattle.

The Missoula International Airport is located 100 miles from the Discovery Ski Area. Delta, Alaska/Horizon, United, Northwest, and Big Sky Airlines offer connecting services through Salt Lake City, Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, and Boise.
