What an awesome trip!!!!!!! Me and seven of my buddies crammed into a condo for three nights, watching cult movies, breaking each others stones, taking pictures of sleepers with fruit aimed at their mouths', and oh yeah, we did some serious riding. The weather wasn't too cooperative that week, but there was fresh powder every morning, short lines, friendly faces everywhere we went, and the rates were pretty reasonable. We even got a voucher for a half day due to the fact that the lifts shut down at noon 'cause of the wind. I've never had a better time in my life.

am origonally from Missouri and Sugarloaf was my first time skiing/snowboarding. I went over MLK weekend and there were considerable ammounts of people around but I only waited more than 5 mintues in a lift line once. The snow was perfect and they had many trails, long and short, hard and easy, with lots of people and many with out anyone, depending on what kind of mood your in. It is one of the more pricey mountains but well worth it if you ski all day. The base lodge was simple, tables, cubby holes for gear, and a few eateries. It became packed very quickly, but better there than on the slopes I suppose. The lift personel were great, they handed out kleenexes. I would not hesitate to return.

First off, let it be known that Sugarloaf is perhaps the GREATEST mountain for all levels. By far, this mountain offers some of the steepest vertical combined with longest runs. The fall line at Sugarloaf is Olympic quality (a run down Competition Hill will verify that!). And the mountain is HUGE, yet compact (you really only have to deal with one FREAKIN' HUGE peak here...no traversing all over the place to get in some good runs!). The mountain is also WELL DIVIDED, in the sense that there is a clearly defined mid-way station that allows the lesser experienced skiers to stay on the lower half of the mountain, and leave the steeper top half to those who can handle it. While staying at The Loaf, I have to recommend that you stay at the Sugartree complex. The units are very comfortable, clean, and relatively affordable. The on mountain health club complex is in the same building that these condos are in - so you don't have to step outside to get to the heated pool, indoor & outdoor hot tubs, steam room, sauna, and gym!!! Be sure to ask for a fireplace, and if you need some extra space - request a unit with an "alcove", you can sleep up to 6!!! I think you know what I'm getting at...oh yeah, did I mention ski to your door!!! The night life is great at the loaf too. Lots of die hard skiers, local and from away, who are just out to have a good time partying and skiing. Definitely eat at The Bag - the BEST pizza I have ever eaten. Also, Shucks for seafood - great for a couple beers and oysters on the half shell before heading back to the condo at the end of the day. And of course Geppetto's for their great 2for1 entree specials (worth sticking around for - great meals!)...
