Sunlight Mountain Resort has an intimate unpretentious atmosphere that can be attributed to its small-town roots. With its summit situated on Compass Mountain, Sunlight offers beautiful vistas of majestic Mount Sopris and the surrounding Elk Mountain Range, as well as hundreds of acres of mild greens, intermediate slopes and black diamond extremes to satisfy all levels and abilities. The affordability and laid back attitude make Sunlight a favorite for all who visit. Children always have a good time at Sunlight. Super tots are a favorite program for returning guests. Super Tots includes a 2 hour ski lesson, equipment rental, lunch and child care. Sunlight does offer indoor child care for age 18 months to six years old.

Sunlight Mountain Resort has the perfect experience for everyone. Skiers and snowboarders will discover terrain from bumps and steeps to glades and groomed trails on more than 460 acres. There is a perfect mix of Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert Terrain. Snowmobilers will be impressed by the beauty and thrill of riding through the White River National Forest and checking out the 360 degree views from the ridge tops. The scenery includes breathtaking views of Mt. Sopris, the West Elk Mountains and faraway Flattops.

Cross country and Snowshoeing is a wonderful way to take the beauty of the mountain. Our cross country and snowshoe center offers 29 kilometers of groomed cross country and snowshoe trails. Beginning, intermediate and advanced trails wind their way through a gorgeous high valley, flanked by Sunlight Mountain and the 10,300 foot Williams Peak. In the historic town of Glenwood Springs, an easy 10 miles from Sunlight Mountain Resort, you’ll find the world’s largest Hot Springs pool, cozy and affordable lodges, wonderful restaurants and great shopping! From Denver
1. Start out going west on I-70 to Glenwood Springs, which is about 150 miles from Denver.
2. Take Exit 116 toward Glenwood Springs/Aspen.
3. At end of exit go right.
4. Make two right turns at consecutive traffic lights and go back over I-70. This will put you on Grand Avenue/Hwy 82 south.
5. Go about 2 miles down Hwy 82.
6. Turn right onto 27th Street.
7. Go straight on 27th Street, which veers left and becomes Midland Avenue.
8. Stay straight on Midland Avenue for about a mile where you will come to a fork in the road.
9. Go right at the fork onto Four Mile Road / County Road 117.
10. Stay straight on Four Mile Road for about 9 miles.
11. Four Mile Road ends at Sunlight Mountain Resort.
12. Total Distance from Denver: approx. 160 miles

From Grand Junction
1. Travel I-70 East to Glenwood Springs, which is about 80 miles from Grand Junction.
2. Take Exit 116 toward Glenwood Springs/Aspen.
3. Turn left under I-70.
4. Make two right turns at consecutive traffic lights and go back over I-70. This will put you on Grand Avenue/Hwy 82 south.
5. Go about 2 miles down Hwy 82.
6. Turn right onto 27th Street.
