A local crowd mixed with Texans in jeans tucked in their ski boots . They arguably have the best snow in the state and their runs are impeccably groomed due to training with local colleges ski area management program. The best part of Cooper is that is simulates backcountry conditions at their best. Scenery is unmatched, the front side is Mt Elbert and Mt Massive Co's two highest peaks, and backside boasts views of Chicago ridge with braids on fresh mornings. If you really want a western feel and not a commercial resort, Cooper is the local’s choice for the real Colorado experience.
