A fun mountain, and a nice change of pace from Mammoth. It is great to ski a couple of days here mixed in with a Mammoth trip, if you have the time. When Mammoth is socked in with wind closures and severe weather, June is almost without exception open with less severe weather.

June is a great place to teach your kids how to ski. I learned at June around 30 years ago. My husband learned at June also, now we are teaching our kids how to ski at June. We just got back from a Christmas holiday and there was once again no lines and ski instructors that actually remembered us from past years. It's an environment where you won't have to worry about your kids getting knocked to the ground by another skier/boarder. The runs are not as challenging as Mammoth, but without lines you still will get a lot more skiing in during your day.
