05/13/2009 - Coming off what can only be described as a banner ski season, Bromley Mountain has just broken ground on a million dollar addition to its summertime Adventure Park lineup, the Sun Mountain Flyer, New England's longest ZipRider® (visit ziprider.com for a preview).
Slated to open in early July, the Sun Mountain Flyer will be a ride unlike any other. So much so, in fact, that there's an excellent chance that even the most ardent thrill-ride seekers have never seen such a ride, let alone ridden one.
At a half-mile long, the Flyer will be one of only three ZipRiders® on the east coast, one of just seven in the lower forty-eight, and one of only ten in the world. It will soar as high as a five-story building and approach speeds of 50 MPH.
A strong contender for "Ride of the Year," the Sun Mountain Flyer will face stiff competition from the reigning ride champion and perennial Adventure Park favorite, Bromley's massive (and one of the longest in the world) triple-tracked Alpine Slide and the Slide's aquatic cousin, The Big Splash, Vermont's longest water-slide ride.
The Sun Mountain Adventure Park opens for the summer season on Saturday, May 23, and will be open weekends through June 14. The Adventure Park opens daily on June 19 and will celebrate with its School's Out, two-for-one full-day admission special. Check bromley.com for details on all of the rides and attractions, hours, schedule of free bands and performances, and to follow the countdown to the Sun Mountain Flyer's opening.
